How Do I Care for My Dentures?
While dentures are a durable option, they require proper maintenance to keep them in good condition.
If you have implant-supported dentures, you may continue to clean your teeth in the same way as
before but may need a different type of toothpaste.
For removable dentures, it is important to handle them carefully when removing them. Use a soft hand
towel to hold them and cover the sink or fill it with water to prevent them from falling and
breaking.
After removing your dentures, brush them gently with a soft-bristled brush, using a denture cleaning
solution once a day. You can also soak them in a designated solution overnight. Be sure to use
lukewarm or room temperature water, as hot water may alter their shape.
What Can I Eat with Dentures?
You should be able to maintain most of your regular eating habits with your new dentures. However,
it is advisable to avoid biting down on hard foods or candy. Additionally, coffee and smoking may
cause staining of your dentures over time.
